Love does more than tell us what we want to hear.

What Is Love? places a difficult family moment above the words of 1 Corinthians 13:6: “Love does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.” A younger boy with a bruised eye holds his puppy while a father confronts the older brother. The vintage illustration brings comfort, accountability, and the responsibility to protect into the same scene.

The back develops the thought: love is tender enough to comfort, hard enough to confront, firm enough to discipline, humble enough to be corrected, and too faithful to truth to pretend. Ephesians 4:15 gives those responsibilities their direction: speaking the truth in love.

I wanted this design to challenge the idea that loving someone means approving everything they do. Love takes another person’s good seriously, including the harm they suffer and the harm they cause. That calls for patience, honesty, mercy, and sometimes a difficult conversation and correction. The reminder to be humble enough to accept correction belongs to every one of us. We need the truth spoken with love, and love willing to speak the truth.

A Length

Place the end of the tape beside the collar at the top of the tee (Highest Point Shoulder). Pull the tape measure to the bottom of the shirt.

B Width

Place the end of the tape at the seam under the sleeve and pull the tape measure across the shirt to the seam under the opposite sleeve.

C Sleeve length

Place the end of the tape at the center back of the collar, then pull the tape measure along the top seam of the sleeve. When you get to the shoulder hold the tape in place at the shoulder and continue to pull down the sleeve until you reach the hem of the sleeve.
