I had a fairly impressive list of what’s wrong with the world. Then I had to put myself on it.

What’s Wrong — Me pairs the answer famously attributed to G. K. Chesterton—“What’s wrong with the world? I am.”—with a quiet scene of a man kneeling before The Throne. The red confession stands above the subdued illustration, bringing a very large question uncomfortably close to home.

The back follows that confession with Paul’s words in Romans 7:24–25: “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?” Then comes the answer: “Thanks be to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord!”

I wanted this design to turn our attention from everyone else’s sins long enough to acknowledge our own. Repentance begins with telling the truth about ourselves, but our hope rests in the Savior who rescues sinners. I am part of the problem. Christ is the One who can do something about it. All humor aside, this is one of my personal favorites.
