Finding Home Framed Wall Art
Reason is a useful servant. It makes a poor god.
Reason challenges our habit of making human understanding the final judge of what God may say or do. The problem begins when we insist that His Word must fit within the limits of what we already find reasonable.
Faith does not require us to stop thinking. We study, question, weigh arguments, and use the minds God has given us. But those minds are neither all-knowing nor untouched by sin. Our confidence rests in God’s faithfulness, rather than our ability to explain Him completely.
I wanted this design to challenge the confidence that puts God in the witness box and appoints us His judges. We can bring Him honest questions without demanding that He earn our trust by answering every one of them to our satisfaction. Reason has work to do. Giving God permission to be God is not part of its job.
