Full House T-Shirt
Apparently, somebody forgot to check the mailbox before planning the break-in.
Full House draws on Jesus’ warning in Matthew 12:43–45: an unclean spirit returns to find its former house empty, swept clean, and put in order. It brings seven spirits more wicked than itself, and the person’s final condition is worse than the first.
But this house has a different occupant. A thoroughly unwelcome group of demons arrives with tools and bad intentions, only to encounter a mailbox marked “H. Spirit” and a closed gate. The message above the scene settles the matter: “This house is occupied.”
The back explains the confidence behind the humor with 1 Corinthians 6:19 and 1 John 4:4: the believer is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world.
I wanted to contrast an empty, tidied-up house with one inhabited by the Holy Spirit. Our hope rests in God’s presence and saving work, not merely in cleaning up our behavior. These would-be intruders have a little more confidence than their situation warrants.
